» Why does FFA use Ticketmaster for concerts and rodeos at National FFA Convention & Expo events?

Ticketmaster has exclusive rights to ticketed events at each of our convention entertainment venues. FFA is contractually obligated to use the Ticketmaster system when hosting ticketed events in these venues.

» Why does FFA no longer sell seats directly via convention registration?

For many years when FFA previously sold concert and rodeo seats through convention registration, we still used Ticketmaster’s system but out of view from registrants. That meant we had to print, sort, manage and distribute all seats internally – all functions that were expensive, inefficient, and produced logistical issues of their own.

That process also prevented advisors – and other attendees – from knowing and selecting their event seats in advance, and from having an electronic version of their seats. We fielded numerous requests for these options in post-convention surveys in recent years, especially as those practices became routine for most ticketed events.

These factors – plus the extraordinary electronic demand for last year’s concert – pointed National FFA to move the bulk of our seats selling process over to Ticketmaster.

» Why can’t FFA get Ticketmaster to sell more than 50 seats in one transaction?

Ticketmaster’s overall system has a hard limit of 50 seats per transaction. FFA is actively working with Ticketmaster to develop alternative options for larger groups that attend the National FFA Convention & Expo, but these options are not yet available. If you need more than 50 seats, plan to complete multiple transactions.

» Why does FFA not accept Purchase Orders for Ticketmaster events?

The only acceptable payment methods are Ticketmaster-approved payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, prepaid gift cards, and PayPal.

We realize this process isn’t perfect for all advisors. But we do believe it’s the best possible scenario for the most amount of people considering the benefits of seat selection, electronic seat distribution and the removal of the logistical problems created by National FFA manually printing, sorting, managing and distributing tens of thousands of event seats.
